RLS Treatment & Remedies

RLS TreatmentUnfortunately, there is no cure for restless leg syndrome.   Symptoms gradually worsen with age, although this happens more slowly with idiopathic RLS than for secondary RLS.   However, there are therapies that can reduce symptoms, provide relief and increase the amount of time the sufferer can obtain restful sleep.

Temporary relief from restless leg syndrome symptoms may be obtained by movement.   Control of secondary RLS requires treatment of the underlying condition.   For those with idiopathic RLS, treatment is directed at relieving the symptoms.

Restless leg syndrome treatment may include over-the-counter medications or prescriptions (such as Requip), natural or alternative treatments, or even home remedies to obtain relief from RLS.   Making simple lifestyle changes will help obtain restless leg syndrome relief.
